21st December Winter Solstice - Yule
The winter solstice occurs when the Earth’s tilt towards the sun is at its minimum, resulting in the shortest day and longest night of the year. After the solstice, the days start getting longer again as we move towards springtime.
The festival of Yule celebrates the coming of longer days and the return of the sun. The symbolic death and rebirth of the sun is celebrated and it is a time of new beginnings; with the changing of the seasons, we say goodbye to a long, still, period of self-reflection and welcome the energy of the sun to propel us forward.
We will take time to walk in the gardens (weather permitting) to celebrate our connection to nature, to release what is no longer needed and to celebrate a change of energy. We will gather evergreens to weave into beautiful natural garlands.
The workshop is held at Doddington Hall 10 am – 4.30 pm. 4 people max. All materials/tea/coffee/lunch are provided £135 pp
